Much love to you Mr Merril. The two things I truly enjoyed at RFA, was
his and Mig’s class. I loved his classes so much I spent my study halls in his class. I enjoyed the many conversations we had about art, military aviation and things about life. After graduation he encouraged me to leave Burger King and get back into school (I did). Today, I’m a art director for an Ad agency. A job I would never have if it wasn’t for his ground work he started. I can still remember him this day, sitting behind his desk telling me an amusing story. The last time I ran into him, was at an air show. I was proud to let him know, that I took his guidance and graduated from MV and was was now in SU, Industrial design. It was the result from a foundation he was instrumental in building. Never met anyone like him since... I suppose I never will.... - from your biggest fan, (you know, the one who never handed in his homework on time) - Foster

Mr. Merrill was my favorite art teacher of all time. We explored so many aspects of art in his junior high class..."poppy" posters, enameled jewelry, clay pots and wood bowls. I visited his home on many occasions and tutored his daughter. I still have the art projects that I did back then around my house and thus would think of him often. Sympathies to his family and may his soul be eternal.

Claude always had positive ideas to share. He had a great smile and a twinkle in his eye. It was a pleasure knowing Claude and Karen.
He will truly be missed. Donna Smith
