Obituary for Kevin Patrick Faris Sr.
Kevin Patrick Faris, Sr., age 64, of Ellijay, GA, passed away on January 29, 2020, after a courageous battle with stage 4 lung cancer.
Kevin was born at Harpal’s Maternity Home on May 31, 1955, in Coupeville, WA, to Emerson and Kathleen (Clark) Faris. He graduated from Coupeville High School in 1973 and attended Kent State University. Kevin served 28 years in the United States Navy and retired in 2000 as Chief Petty Officer. He then completed 10 years in civil service retiring as a GS-12 for a second time in 2012. He settled in Ellijay, GA.
Along the way, Kevin has made many friends and touched the lives of all he met. He will be remembered for his selflessness and love of family.
He is survived by the love of his life, Elizabeth Irene Tiegen; two sons: Kevin P. Faris, Jr. of Mukilteo, WA and Justin Faris currently deployed with the Navy; two daughters: Hailey Clemens of Snohomish and Asheley Faris of Athens, GA; one step-daughter, Kayleigh Dean; two step-sons: Peter and Patrick Weiss; one sister, Kathleen Faye (Faris) Diemert of Anacortes, WA; three brothers: Jim E. Faris of Grandville, TX, Foster Faris and Emerson Faris, both of Anacortes, WA; one aunt, Dorothy Keefe of Coupeville, WA; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society.
