Obituary for Leif Erik Albertsen

Leif was born on Whidbey Island to John Albertsen and Margaret O'Brien on October 16th 1974. Leif
grew up with his siblings Charity Bush, Rachel Thelen, Vanessa Ledford, Sommer Joy Ramer, Jordan
Albertsen, and Dan Lee.

After graduating from South Whidbey Highschool in 1992, Leif became a Master Carpenter. He would
always take time to help friends with any project, ill-conceived or not, no questions asked. He
volunteered for many years with Hearts and Hammers on South Whidbey as well. Leif never took
himself too seriously, reminding us that there is humor in everything. Never wanting to be in the
spotlight or needing a pat on the back, he was happy slipping in, helping out, and quietly leaving.

Aside from work Leif made a lasting impression in the community as a baseball coach. He will always
be remembered as a kind, fun, and knowlegable coach. You didn't have to ask him twice to help out
around the ball field. He was an amazing influence and caring mentor to many kids.
Of course Leif's proudest accomplishment came in the form of his son, Campbell. He was a hands on
father and always put his son's needs and desires first. It comes as no surprise that Campbell is a chip
off the old block and emulates his dad's immense strength, extreme wit, intelligence, love of music
and sports, and anything history. At least one day a week was dedicated to sports with Campbell and
his dad, John.

5 years ago he met his soulmate Jen and it was obvious to all that knew him he had never been happier.
He made sure that every week included date night, just the two of them. He also made a point to
include Jen's son, Cash, in many activities.

Leif passed away the same way he lived; he wrote his own rules. His twisted humor kept everyone on
their toes, always guessing what was coming next. Leif Erik (Thor) Albertsen was a viking to the end,
carrying a raised battle axe to Valhalla, full of fight and glory. Leif is survived by his dad John
Albertsen, mom Margaret, his son Campbell, his love Jen Hajny and her son Cash, large family,
countless friends, and aspiring baseball players.

There will be a Celebration of life for Leif on November 16th at the Rod and Gun Club starting at 3pm.
In Lieu of flowers the family asks that all donations be made to South Whidbey Little League. PO
