Obituary for Matthew "Matt" Jerome Cramer

Born on November 9, 1984, in Oak Harbor, Washington, Matt’s number one priority in life was being a good father to his two sons. Matt passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on May 3, 2020.

Matt was born and raised in Oak Harbor and became a man with many skills: Master Craftsman, Tradesman, Lead Journeyman, and Fitter / Welder. He loved his family first and foremost; he adored and loved being a dad. He loved to snuggle his sons and watch movies, making special memories with his boys. Eli recalls a family tradition where Matt would gently rub his ear, which meant “I love you.” Matt always ensured the dirt bikes and 4-wheelers were running for the kids and family to ride on the trails at home. Matt also loved customizing motorcycles, camping, and hiking. He enjoyed going on motorcycle rides with his family and friends, and he loved to cook and entertain; often barbecuing or using his custom smoker (that he was very proud of!). He loved to go to the beaches, and to the mountains; he loved being outdoors.

He was a big-hearted man and was always there for anyone. He is known for having given love and guidance to so many, who remember him fondly. He loved life and was very spiritual on many levels, but especially to his Native American heritage and the Christian belief that all life came from our Creator.

Matt is survived by the loves of his life, Nikki Scott, and two sons, Eli Jerome Cramer (age 11) and Sybashton Jacob Cramer (age 5). He is also survived by his mother, Wendy Cramer; his brother, Jason Cramer; his sister-in-law, Karha Cramer; his nieces, Taryn and Ellyn Cramer; his nephew, Wesly Cramer; his sister, Catherine Turner; his brother, Joseph 'Jamie' Turner; and his California family: his father, Richard Cramer; his step-mother, Shelli; his brother, Thomas; and sister, Elaine; along with many cousins, and brothers- and sisters-of-choice.

SERVICES

On Friday, May 8th, Matt's immediate family members will gather at Wallin Funeral Home from 4-5p for a private family service (by invite only; social distancing requirements will be met). Other family and special friends are encouraged to participate by offering messages of condolence on an easel and photo of Matt located in the Wallin portico for ‘drive by’ visitation purposes from 12p to 5p. Please 'drive through' the portico and leave your messages and memories for the family on the canvas provided there (keeping social distancing in mind). Flowers and cards may also be left at the easels, for delivery to the family at their private service (or they may be sent directly to the Cramer family home). At 5pm, a Memorial Ride will depart from Wallin – everyone is invited to participate in this ride, following the family in memory of Matt. Memories and condolences may also be left here on Matt’s Memory Wall.

Later, as circumstances permit, a Cramer-Style Celebration of Life will be held for all to share the way Matt would have wanted.
